While many brides are enamored by the thought of being married in the summer, the winter is a magical time to hold a wedding ceremony and reception. There are unique themes that work best during the winter, and if you haven’t yet decided on yours, the following ideas should give you some great inspiration.
The Holiday Theme
If the holidays are your favorite time of year, why not make it extra special by having a holiday-themed wedding? Red and gold are wonderful, elegant colors to use and you can take advantage of affordable decorations since holiday décor can be used.
Winter Wonderland
This is great for couples who don’t live in snowy areas but who want to bring that feeling to their wedding. Simply anchor some tall branches in containers (spray insulation will hold them in) and add lights that shine up the “trunk” into the branches. Cover the container and light with cotton to look like snow. Glitter in the branches and on the cotton works very well, too!
Victorian Wedding
Victorian weddings work very well in the winter because the clothing is typically heavy and long-sleeved. The winter weather makes it bearable in a way summer wouldn’t allow. The colors are also perfect for winter: ivory, rose, gold, etc.
New Years Wedding
This is a fun and romantic theme for a bold couple. New years weddings allow couples and their guests to celebrate new beginnings and have a lot of fun doing so. This is another theme where décor is readily available and therefore, less expensive.
Use these fun winter wedding theme ideas as inspiration to come up with your own beautiful and memorable theme.
